Loose dirt or resin

For small spots or loose dirt, it is best to wipe the tent with a soft and dry brush or cloth. Gently brush or wipe the rooftop tent without using force.

Been under a tree for a while and resin has gotten on it? No worries! Resin from trees is fairly easy to remove, just note always let the resin dry out first. Do nothing at first and wait for the resin to dry thoroughly. To speed up the curing process, you can hold an ice cube against the resin. Do not press. When the resin is dry you can pick it off. The spot that remains often disappears again by UV light.

Folding the rooftoptent with tree resin

Want to fold the rooftoptent, but have some still soft tree resin spots? Cover the spots temporarily with toilet paper or kitchen roll. The resin will be absorbed by the paper and will not affect other parts of the tent fabric when folded.

Tip: If you want to clean the rooftoptent, use only lukewarm water, do not use detergents! These affect the impregnating agent.

Do you still have some dirty spots or mold on the rooftoptent due to humid conditions?

Then it is necessary to clean the rooftoptent properly. There are a number of special tent cloth cleaners available for this purpose. It is important to properly clean the entire rooftoptent in case of mold, do not forget the tubes, roof tent cover and mattress.

Mold on the rooftoptent spreads very easily on contact or through the air. Therefore, we recommend to really clean everything well, so that there is no more mold anywhere. This will also prevent discoloration in the canvas.

When removing mold from the rooftoptent, you need to look carefully at the materials used for the tent fabric, polyester, canvas and cotton tent fabrics have different properties and therefore also different cleaning agents

After cleaning the rooftoptent with a respective cleaning agent, it is important to re-impregnate the rooftoptent with impregnation agent.
