Inside Sky inner tent

€ 65,00

On cold nights there is always a risk of condensation forming on the inside of the tent fabric in all tents. This mainly depends on the outside temperature and the degree of ventilation. Ventilation can partly pass through the fabric but for the most part ventilation must be provided through windows/doors at all types and brands of tents.

The condensation is mainly caused by ourselves, we humans produce a lot of moisture and the air we breathe out contains a lot of water vapour.

For internal insulation in the roof tents we have a simple but adequate solution: an "indoor sky".

We have deliberately chosen not a complete inner tent but only a sky.

From the experience of our roof tent test panel we have noticed that a full inner tent in the roof tent is not the most ideal solution. The inner marquees that are now on the market have been tested by our test panel and they show that the walls of the inner marquees that are there touch the outer fabric of the roof tent on the underside. This causes the inner tent to become damp at the bottom just where you are lying. And you also experience this as uncomfortable.

That's why we have chosen to provide only the roof with the extra layer of dust called the sky. Mounting is easy with Velcro and can just stick when folded shut. Heaven is made of 100% cotton so it is washable. Please note maximum 30 degrees and do not tumble dry.

Many people ask us:

What about condensation?
Here is an explanation and this applies to all tents cheap or expensive. Top quality canvas or inferior quality canvas.

On cold nights there is always a chance of condensation forming on the inside of the tent fabric in all tents.

This mainly depends on outside temperature and humidity inside and outside the tent.

The condensate is mainly caused by ourselves, we humans produce a lot of moisture and the air we breathe out contains a lot of water vapour.

The water vapour from our breath is of course warm, when the tent fabric has a lower temperature than the so-called dew point, the water vapour from our breath can condense on the cold surface of the tent fabric.

If there is a lot of condensation in small droplets on the canvas, then slowly larger droplets of condensation will form and if they are large enough, these droplets can fall down as raindrops. In the latter case there is usually no ventilation and there is a high humidity.

To counteract this, it is therefore important to get humidity down or increase the temperature of the fabric above the dew point.

You can reduce humidity by ventilating. Bringing the temperature above the dew point can be done by heating. Ventilating it is easy to heat the entire room including the tent fabric requires a lot of energy and is not always available.
